I'm in the process of finishing up taking out all of the seam glue. As far as stitch welding, I'm having a professional welder come over a doing it for me. I've hear a few ideas. One being that you drill where the existing weld spots are, and then rewelding it. I've also seen people skipping the drill part and just welding the seam on the edge inbetween the welds. Anyone here have some pics? Also, I plan on doing a cage in the near future. Who is the best person to take it to without having to pay out the butt to get it done? Anyone have problems with a 4 point? Car is going to be getting an alignment soon at Car Crafters and then off to be stitch welded, then painted. After that, cage will be installed.

I sent you my guys' info.

I can't get steel anymore unfortunately, but he had a decent price if I recall correctly. I got a lot more than you done by him, and it was not too bad (6-pt with door bars) and it was within my broke ass budget

Just me, but I'd do the alignment after the stitch welding. yes, it's anal, but the welding may change the geometry ever so slightly, why not just reverse the order you're having those done in and take care of that too?

That's right kids, Bolts and torque settings in Z32's are purely an NVH issue, as the car itself fits together like DOHC Nissan Jenga.

That makes a lot of sense. I may just have to do that. Problem is that I would like to go to the first event and I don't know if I can budget a cage for that.

well, it's either that, or pay for alignment multiple times. Your money, your choice.

Don't cut corners on the cage. Dan's flip should show the importance of a quality cage. It's more than just welding some pipes together. Dan's helmet hit the cage when the floorboard buckled. If the car had rolled anymore, I'm pretty sure the outcome would've been much worse.
Peace,

What would you want for a 4/6 point scottie?

Unfortunately, roll cages are not my specialty. I would talk to Dan or Brian at car crafters to see what they could do.
