Hello all,

The next NM Concealed Handgun Course is April 21st - 22nd 2012. Included is the upcoming schedule of Concealed carry courses through May 2012 as well.

The 2012 schedule for upcoming CCW classes through the Fall is as follows:

May 19th – 20th - NM Concealed carry course - open
June 10th - 4 year NM CCW Renewal course - 1 opening
June 23rd-24th - NM Concealed carry course - open
July 14th - 15th - NM Concealed carry course - open
August 11th - 12th - NM Concealed carry course - open


A deposit is required to hold your space in a class.

The NM Permit is currently recognized in 30 States.
If you have been thinking about getting this done, now is the time to get your license!

NM Concealed Handgun Permit Requirements:

1. 21 years of age or older *(I've had many people younger than 21 take my course for the training value. If you are younger than 21, you may take the course if you wish for training purposes at a discount - You cannot apply for a permit until you are 21 years old, at which time you may re take the course at a 50% discount)
2. Resident of NM and US citizen
3. Completion of NM DPS approved firearms training course (My course exceeds the minimum requirements!)

In this course you will learn:

-Gun Safety, and safe use and storage of handguns

-How to select the right handgun and ammunition

-Basic handgun skills

-How to carry concealed and methods for concealment and drawing from concealment

-Rules, regulations and gun laws for NM and for concealed carry in NM

-Non violent threat resolution and de escalation techniques

-Basic live fire range qualification and how to shoot safely for range practice and dry fire practice

Cost for the class is $175 ** (Discounts apply for Forum members, students, referrals, and for more than 1 taking the class together!!) This includes tax, range fees, and qualifying on 2 types of handguns (Which I can supply) notarizing your application, and refreshments/snacks.

• The next New Mexico Concealed Carry Handgun Training Class is on April 21st – 22nd , 2012. This course makes a great gift for someone who has been thinking about getting this training and certification!!

II. ***NM CCW 4 year Renewal Course***

(If you know someone who is not on this list who needs to renew, please forward it to them)


****This class is for ALL OF YOU who are within 5 months of your CURRENT CCW license expiring!! Meaning that you can take this course if you EXPIRE anytime between June and November 2012 (The Certificate of Completion issued to you is good for 90 days and you may apply up to 60 days prior to your expiration date)
You must renew your license in order to continue carrying Concealed in NM

It is a 5 hour class with classroom and live fire requirements, and will fulfill requirements to renew your 4 year NM license.****

Location: City Shooting Range

Equipment: Each handgun you previously qualified on and 25 rounds of ammunition for each, and eye and
Ear Protection

Time: June 10th, 2012

9:00 am until approximately 2:00 p.m
Cost: $75.00 – this includes tax, range fees, qualifying on both types of handgun, notarizing, and certificate of completion (I cannot take credit cards at the range, cash or check is fine, or pay by credit card at my school through Saturday) Bring a snack and/or lunch

Space is limited so call and reserve yours now. First Come First Served. The next renewal class will likely not be until the Spring.

My courses are DPS approved and I teach more than the minimum requirements to apply for your permit

Question: since I let my license expire (9/20/11), im assuming id need to retake the course all over again?

Unfortunately yes. If you are more than 60 days expired you must take the initial course again

This may sound like a dumb question, but ill ask anyway... are we allowed to bring our own gun?

Of course (not referring to the "dumb question" part)! And you should, although it is not mandatory. You are welcome to borrow one of ours for the qualification as well as the hands-on / handling drills we go over on the first day and part of the second. Just remember to not bring any live ammunition into the classroom.

Any chance of a renewal class at the end of the year? I expire in March next year. I did my initial class through you, and I don't want to go searching for someone else to do my renewal if I don't have to.

I'll have a couple more by the end of the year. If you expire in March the earliest you can take a class is in October this year
