Of the places I may be moving to in the near future, Tucson is one of them. I've visited it a couple of times, but it's been a while and I don't have any long-term experience with the city. Anyone who lives there have any opinions of it, and if you've got any ABQ experience, a little compare/contrast?

I like Tucson. I wouldnt live there, but its a clean city.

Is it bigger than Albuquerque? To me, it's sort of a weird analog for ABQ, just hotter and with a college that could only dream to be as top-tier as UNM (ask MightyWhitey how much those Wildcats suck compared to the Lobos )

They have In-N-Out, but fuck that because we have Lotaburger which is much better.

You're closer to Phoenix, Las Vegas, California, etc... and the women are hotter. Therefore, Tuscon>Albuquerque..., but compared to Phoenix it's a shit hole!

but it's way too close to mexico for me.
and it's far from being a clean city.

Tucson is like Albuquerque with more money. Having lived there for 20 years I think I can help you out. If you need anything, point out some parts of town, help finding a good restaurant, or bar. just shoot me a PM.

Agreed (for the most part), but people that are not familiar with the area reference the entire valley as "Phoenix." Even with Phoenix having some extremely shitty parts, I still think it's better than Tuscon, and the suburbs (Mesa, Glendale, the Dales, Gilbert, Tempe, Chandler, etc...) obviously better than both.

In summary for those following along: Albuquerque is an extreme crap hole. Don't worry about anywhere else that you might live! It will be better than Albuquerque.

I think Tucson is a clean city and phoenix for the most part is clean.
Albuquerque has only started to clean up in the last 5-8 years thanks to Marty's efforts but it was a shit nasty place in the 80s-90s. When I worked in flagstaff I had a delivery route that brought me through tucson in my way to souther NM, I liked staying in Tucson and getting fucked up on the cheap. It was clean, not palm springs clean but nice

Tell us how you really feel. Sounds like there is a story behind all the hate.

I've been to Tucson a few times and I really liked it. Never for a long time but just for the weekends. But to say that Abq. as a whole is nothing but a shit hole is a bit to harsh.

phoenix overall is a shithole (if you include the westside)

but i must say... even AJ is better than Tucson.
