Ever since we had our son my wife has had some pain in her hips and we believe the back pain is associated with that. She feels like she is misaligned. Can you help my wife? She has Molina health insurance, do you accept that insurance? What are the costs associated with consultation/eval/xray/treatment?

Thanks in advance!

my one month later repsponse---sorry!!! i check these boards and somehow overlooked your post!!!!

it is not uncommon for the pelvis/ lower back to misalign following a pregnancy and delivery. The last stage of pregancy, the female body produces a hormone called relaxin, it does exactly that; "relaxes" ligaments -really allows ligaments to stretch past their normal capacity- this allows the pelvis to be more malleable and makes the birthing process possible (opening of the birth canal).

The pelvis (sacro-iliac joints) can become stressed and inflamed due to misalignments, alos the lower lumbar vertebrae can be involved, causing the discs and spinal ligaments to become irritated and inflamed, compressing nearby spinal nerves!

I see many pregnant patients throughout their pregnancy as well as after they deliver, I'll be happy to see if we can help your wife, call and schedule an appointment, we take most health insurance, best way to know is to bring the card in at time of appt, we can check on it and let u know the coverage, your responsibility, etc./....or u can fax a copy of the card, front/ back, plus copy of driver's license to: 505-821-8594.

Our office numbner is 505-884-8584.

Let me know if u have any other questions/concerns,
Dr. TODD
