I was just wondering what is considered the Southwest.
In my eyes the “four corner states are the Southwest. Texas is not in the southwest, nor is Nevada, and California sure as hell is not. That is my view from the connotation of the term. Though I might consider only New Mexico and Arizona the Southwest because Colorado and Utah are more centralized.
Based on the denotation, if you split the continental 48 states into four quadrants, the Southwest would include all of the states in this forum, but then you would have to include Kansas and Oklahoma.
Since I don’t have a forum to harass Nathan in, if he is still in OR, I posted here to complain by saying Texas, Nevada, and California aren’t in the Southwest. I looked for a nice US graphic of the SW, NW, Mid-West and all the regions but could not find one.
What is the Southwest?

The four corner states are the only Southwest damnit.
Texas is Texas. Central time zone and all. I guess you could argue the little sliver in Mountain time can be part of the SW... but the rest... hells no. Nevada and California are WEST... Pacific timezone, they are West, THE WEST.
...did I miss something, is being part of the Southwest now cool? Are we the cool-kids club?
Four Corner States... buy the map called "Indian Country" from AAA, that's the Southwest... Green Chili, Southwest... not TexMex, Not CaliMex...
