Nice #'s!!! So does the drive shaft issue mean your not gonna make this weekends Outlaw race?

I don't think so I have all the spare parts but I want to see how bad the damage really is. So I am going to take my time to look at every thing. After I took the car off the dyno it was twisted also got to see why also. I was hoping for a sub 8 second run out here so I turned it up I guess a little to much. I calculated that with good traction all the waty down the car could hit 6's with my weight and HP all this with an engine that idles at 1000 rpm I will be out for the no bull and a few test and tunes in the next few weeks

Thats nuts. Is good that it let go on the dyno vs the track though at least. I hope it all goes back together smoothly and quickly.

the video didn't do anything to show how much noise the thing was making. The drive shaft banging the walls of the drive shaft shield was crazy loud. I am supprised Chris didn't mess himself with the noise and movement inside the car.

Good Lord. blink.gif I'm glad to hear everyone's OK. For fun, see if you can return that driveshaft to DynoTech and, of course, enclose pictures. laugh.gif azzangel.gif

Oh, and Sherb, maybe you should offer to buy some new boxers for Mr. Groves. I know I probably would be needing some after an incident like that.

Did the power twist the driveshaft up like that all by itself, or did something else break/seize-up which caused the shaft to turn into a candycane?

When the drive shaft broke it had parts still attached to the yoke and it was spinning violently causing the transmission case to break. The drive shaft failure was due to trosinal load in one direction then quickly changing direction when the engine throttle was lifted. Thus causing the dyno to try to accelerate the engine instead of the engine accelerateing the dyno.
