Not what i hoped (it never is!), but not too bad!

Eric (sq_creations) for helping to get the car dialed in (it was a quick and dirty job, but it runs great now!)

and the results....


Land & Sea DynoMite (don't know anything else about it)

Peak Horsepower: Actual: 243.6 Corrected: 344 @ 5750
Average Horsepower: 184 / 250 (corrected)

Peak Torque: Actual: 250 Corrected: 344 @ 4900
Average Torque: 239 / 322 (corrected) from 2150-5950rpms

For a 2800lb car, it's enough to get me in trouble biggrinnew.gif The peak numbers are less than i was hoping, but both curves are beautiful, and the torque curve makes the car a blast to drive!

Kinda low for a cammed LS1, I would've expected near 380whp at least. Do you still have the stock manifolds, or headers? FYI, stock rev limit is 6200. I forget your cam specs, but It probably would've made more power if you stayed in it a little longer. If the valvetrain supports it (new springs/pushrods), rev it to at least 6500-6600, and see how it does.


At the same time, I know that's a load bearing dyno, so it might dyno lower than a dynojet dyno would. shrug.gif


Anyway, congrats on getting it altogether, I bet it feels awesome in that little car. Any plans on going to the drag strip with it?

I thought so too, but i don't really know the differences between different dynos. The power dropped off significantly after about 5900 so i just took my foot out of it. The car's got full exhaust (1 & 3/4 mid-length headers) and upgraded valve springs.
The cam i picked is mainly for torque since i'll be doing autocrossing and stuff like that. I also think my air intake is probably hurting the horsepower a bit (3" mandrel with several good bends in it).
I'll try and get it out to the strip one of these days! These cars (944's) suck at drag racing though...tons of wheel-hop, and the transmission is always a weak point.

+1, you weren't going to get anymore torque but you shut down way too early I think. 344whp is not bad though but I could easily see ~365whp if you would've stayed in it for another ~600-700 rpms shrug.gif ... Still slow though, ph34r.gif

We were short on time. I think we only got 5 or 6 pulls in. The car was running rich to begin with but is much better now. Id still love to get some more time on the laptop if we can get it from Cortney some time. How is it running on the street?

put it on a dyno jet and you will see another 10 to 20 whp .

i dont think its too bad for a quick tune.. i bet with a little more time on the dyno you would see some better numbers..

and take it to 6,300ish you will see a little more..

That sure was a fast build, great to see you have it up and running.

As for dyno numbers....... it's all about how it drives on the street/track bbling.gif you wanted torque and you have it. Nice job on the build.

I believe those dynos read a little low. Where is that dyno? Great #'s for a car that weighs that little. I bet it moves.
