Hey everyone....as some of you may or may not know, my 95' s14 is up for sale. That car is my daily driver AND track toy...its a tricky position that i have to use it for both, so I decided Id rather have a daily and track car...leading me to this. I know lots of people are wondering why I dont just keep the back one etc...I need to sell it for financial reasons then I can realign myself to fund this project and have a new daily. That being said, I scored this s14 from a friend (DriftMeNow on here) and I immediately started the tear down (see pics below).

Im starting this thread to fully document the build and kinda show everyone all the work and cool stuff that will be done to the car! To start, here are some basic facts about the car. Its a 96 base model w/ power options, its been in "odd" front end wreck, I have no idea how or what happened to it, but the non-structural portions of the frame rail ends are been crunched. Its got 4 lug, which will need to be swapped for 5 lug, its got an open diff. The body is really straight, just minor door dings. All in all a great little project car.

So far, ive done a decent amount of work to it including: Pulled/dropped the entire rear end, pulled the front body panels to expose all damage, began dropping the front x-member and suspension, pulled the tranny/driveshaft and exhaust. Basically at this points its a lot of sorting through which parts you keep and throw away or sell....id estimate ill only keep 30-40% of the OEM parts and the rest will go by the way side. I made a sweet little dolly (pics below) capable of supporting the full weight of the chassis so that I could drop the suspension and make the car very manuverable in the garage...its awesome, time well spent IMO, you can turn the thing completely sideways in the garage and really gets you some favorable working conditions!! Im devising a plan to fix the front right now....its def. OK that it has the front end damage because a lot of the structural stuff thats up there ID be cutting off for what Im doing with the motor/cooling/aerodynamic setup.

Im guessing by this point, some of you are wondering what my vision/purpose is for this car and what its setup might be like. Here are some thoughts of mine (without giving away too much): It will be a roadrace/time attack and drift car. SR powered again, probably built head and big-ish turbo, more attention paid to suspension/chassis tuning at first, more power later when I can handle more, lol. The car will be fully caged, no interior save 2 seats and a dash...fully stripped. More details to come....check out the pics and please comment!

It was raining hella hard the afternoon I got it and began working! Danlar dropped by!

Raining HARD, this was a cool pic, so im just throwing it in!

Checkin out some suspension damage/pulled the hood to get around the engine bay easier

How it came (no motor, but a trans, thats always good smile.gif )

Smashed!

More smash

again...mas el smasho!

GOOOO!

K, now heres the dolly I was talking about! TITS

Dropped the entire rear end off!

Gettin more naked!

Lots of space up in there!!

Pulled the whole front end and all the supports and body panels!

Now wash..this thing was dirty as heck! Now its clean and im willing to touch it lol.

I suppose thats all for now, Ill have lots of updates over the next few days...gonna finish dropping the front suspension and xmember, then I will gut the interior, remove sound deadener/insulaiton and the start fixing the frame rails! Look for more to come in this thread!
